Speech therapy for real life, in Devon

A trauma-informed, person-centred practice based in Totnes — working with children, teenagers and adults right across the South West.

We're Lou and Kathryn

Two experienced Speech and Language Therapists, based in Totnes.
We share a belief that with the right support, at the right time,
people can make real and lasting changes — and that good therapy
should feel practical, collaborative, and genuinely fulfilling.

What we help with

One-to-one therapy tailored to you. A few of the areas we most
often work in — get in touch if you're not sure whether what
you're experiencing fits.

Stammering

Children, teenagers and adults. Evidence-based approaches
including Michael Palin PCI, Lidcombe, ACT and Solution
Focused Brief Therapy.

Stroke and brain injury

Support with communication after stroke, brain injury or
other neurological events — in your home or in clinic.

Progressive conditions

Dementia, Parkinson's, functional neurological disorder and
other progressive conditions affecting communication.

Our approach

Meaningful goals, shaped around you

Our approach is rooted in the latest evidence-base, combined
with goals that feel personally meaningful and motivating for
the individuals and families we work alongside.

We're both trained in counselling and psychotherapy alongside
our core SLT work — it means we're comfortable sitting with the
emotional side of communication difficulties, not just the
clinical side.

Common questions

A few of the things people ask before getting in touch.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can contact us directly — no GP or NHS referral is
needed for private Speech and Language Therapy.

Where do sessions happen?

We see people at our clinic in Totnes, and also offer home
visits across South Devon and online sessions where that
works better.

How much does it cost?

We'll talk you through fees on an initial call. The first
15-minute consultation is free, with no obligation to book.

How long will therapy take?

It depends on what you're working on. We'll always be
upfront about what a realistic timeline looks like, and
review progress together as we go.
